Food Styling

The way food is presented in photography goes a huge way to tempting people to try new recipes, foods or eateries. Rachel Green makes food look as good as it tastes.  Rachel has worked with photographers on Hello magazine and Jamie Oliver photographer David Loftas as well as many other popular publications. With Rachel food styling is always about the food. Yes, the props and lighting are important but the dish itself should always take centre stage. The trick is to assemble exactly the right combination of colours, textures and freshness in a way that makes the flavours and aromas seem so enticing that readers want to eat the page itself.

Our props cupboard is also at your disposal, years of working in the food industry has led to an extensive collection of plates, boards, bowls, cups and all sorts of condiments and pots for you to rummage through.

Team Building Events

Team building  in the kitchen help strengthen a team’s spirit and gets  the group working together to face the challenge or goal of creating  dishes from a chosen menu. Cooking and eating is the common thread that brings us all together. Food plays a huge part of our lives, eating is something we do at least 3 times a day.

The cookery team building events have the potential to accelerate the overall performance of the team. It is the perfect team building event as it enables the members of the group to learn and work together more effectively, creating trust and new leadership within the group. The cookery events are designed to also be fun and a great experience, bringing out new leaders. As most people are out of their comfort zone, they are usually highly charged and have to engage with each other to get the job in hand completed.

We have a number of package examples below but we always create bespoke packages to a client’s individual requirements so you can choose your starting time then we can then plan the timetable and the menu accordingly. We can tailor the event to be as competitive or collaborative as you like. Our lovely “Front of House” team will be on hand to do all the washing up during the practical cookery session, as well as serving your meal and wine once you’ve sat down to enjoy the dinner you have just created. Our classes start with drinks and of course something delicious to eat, while everyone gets to know one another. Then we crack on with the task in hand.

Our lessons are hands-on, and informative, but most importantly, enjoyable and fun whether its mastering the perfect afternoon tea, or cooking vegan cakes and breads, or just enjoying making classic pies, pastries and puddings or the more demanding French patisserie. The recipes are designed to be used at home and in the kitchen we use equipment most people will have at home.

Live Demonstrations

Warm hearted, enthusiastic, exuberant and funny… No-one does food demonstrations quite like Rachel – from small groups of hands-on students to crowds of several hundred at a food fair or country show.

When it comes to demonstrating great cooking, Rachel is in her element. Her sheer enjoyment shines through as she entertains onlookers with her skill and sense of humour. Rachel’s passion for local, seasonal produce means that she often themes food demonstrations to the season.

The great thing about Rachel is that her style appeals to all age groups and abilities. She proves why you don’t have to be a Michelin-starred chef to produce amazing food for your family and friends. And in a day and age of fiddly, fussy menus Rachel’s no-nonsense approach to proper, honest British cooking is just what many people need.
